about
As some of you may know, I am from New Orleans and hold it dear to my heart.
After spending the last 13 months away in New Zealand,
and various destinations, I am finally headed home.
This song is inspired by my love of the city, my yearning to set foot on it's soil, and a homecoming that will be unparalleled.
This is my version of a 1927 classic written by the timeless, Jimmie Rodgers of Meridian, Mississippi.
I marks my yodeling debut and was a special request from a friend of mine in Korea.
To all ya'll down in it for Mardi Gras....Live it up..I will see you soon!!
Thanks for listening!
lyrics
I never knew that the place I grew is the grandest place on earth.
Till I roamed around from town to town but now I know what it's worth.
Listen while I'll tell you bout the place I mean...
It's my little ole home down in New Orleans...
In the sunny south where the black oil flows,
that's where I long to be.
The Dixie land where the white cotton grows,
is calling now to me.
And soon I'll be in the land of my dreams...
And that's my little ole home down in New Orleans...
I've been east and way out west,
I've been around most everywhere,
Now I'm heading south for a good long rest,
I'll be glad when I get there.
All the wonderful things in the world it seems...
Are a waiting for me down in New Orleans...
In the sunny south...
Yes that's my little ole home down in New Orleans...
New Orleans.
